SCHOOL & SERVICES
Northowram is well supported with its accessable library complete with local hub attached. Our junior and infants school is recommended for its high achievement status.
Doctors and a pharmacy are available to local residents convieniently placed. Don’t forget you can find connections to local policing and your councillors too!
WORSHIP
A wide range of places to worship are contained within the village. Heywood United Reform Church, Northowram Methodist Church and St. Matthews all have regular sevices and offer further facilities for othe community activities.
Heatherwood in Shibden is a special place too that offer a meeting place for Christians too.
SPORTING ACTIVITIES
Northowram has always had a full compliment of sporting activities available. The Northowram Community Sports and Activity Club is a focus of many sporting events which include football and cricket.
Together with a running club, bowling club and riding events there is plenty of choice for active free time.
ACTIVITIES & ROOM HIRE
There are many venues in the village that host regular classes, activites. These places are usually available for hire to host your own party or event. You will need to use our contact page to find out what is going on and who is your point of contact. We rely on the appropriate representitives of these village activities to keep the details on the site updated. We appologise in advance if this doesn’t happen.

LOCAL VILLAGE COUNCILLORS & POLICE
At regular intevals there are meetings of the Northowram & Shelf Ward Forum. This body is part of an initiative of Calderdale Council to allow the community to interact with what is happening in the area and respond to councilors or police representatives who attend this open meeting. Check the home page for advertised details of where and when this meeting takes place.
SHOPS & BUSINESSES
Find almost everything you need in the village. No need to head for Halifax centre when you can use one of the well stocked local stores, Hair and beauty, laundry services and even a local estate agent are on your doorstep. Plenty of local trades people can help with electrical problems to hand made furniture.
