Local plan update.  Formed in April 2017 the group is active in putting together a realistic adoption of the Local Plan that affects this area. Comments on this plan are active until 24th Sep 2018 so please add any relevant comment to allow the plan to support a reduced number of housing. These comments are public documents are therefore are visible to all. Abusiveones will be bined.  Housing requirements  for boroughs of Shelf and Northowram  stand at 586 proposed houses. This could alter as the plan will go on for government approval in the next stage. Please pass on to all residents of the village the need to be active in supporting the work of the SNLP (their website address is: www.snlpf.org.uk/northowram )

All these proposals are green belt except one.

Police Update. Given by Sgt. Maddox.  Speed is an issue to all areas of the Ward.

Crime reports. 30 May 2018 to 7 Sep 2018. 92 crimes down by 2 previous year.

Area of crime that has gone up is theft from vehicles. 26 up 6 from previous year.

Antisocial behaviour is down.  50, 10 less than previous reported period.

Any issues should be reported to be logged as this will help increase the chance of a crime being escalated to an active position to be actioned.

Yew Tree Inn update. Enterprise is the company that is in the process of selling the property. We are now applying for it to be recognised as a community asset, although it is doubted that this will happen. A petition now available to sign to keep as a pub.
