  1. Hi Melita…The Prospect pub is still in use on Prospect Street. I do not know of the other pub you mentioned called the Springfield Tavern, although I believe there was a Springfield area near the Prospect so it makes sense. This area is on the doorstep of the largest textile manufactures in England at that time so it attracted a lot of people from other areas looking for work. There was Crossley carpets and Akroyden mills within 5 mins walking distance from Prospect street. It was an extremely built up area at that time. I suspect there were ties to Norfolk and the wool trade that possibly connected both places? We have a general photo of the area at around the start of the 20th century but not one of prospect Street at the time your ancestors were living there.
